This steel fire pit with grill grate is one welded bowl of 10 mm steel plate, an open fire and a grill in one. The bowl is cut from S235JR structural plate and fully welded, with air cutouts in all four walls.

A removable grate welded from solid steel flat bar sits across the top. Its raised handle arm lets you lift the grate or swing it aside; with the grate off, the bowl is an open fire pit again. The height suits grilling seated or standing at a bench.

The standard bowl is 700 x 700 mm and 400 mm deep, about 520 mm tall excluding the grill arm, on four welded 120 mm block legs. A longer bowl with a half-width grate or a larger grate area is also possible. The finish is raw steel or heat-resistant black; the grate itself stays bare steel.

Fire pit and grill in one welded body

The Steel Fire Pit with Grill Grate takes our square 10 mm plate fire pit and adds what most garden grills lack: real mass, real heat retention and a cooking grate you can trust with a full load of coals underneath. The bowl is CNC-cut from S235JR structural plate and fully welded; rectangular air cutouts in all four walls pull air through the fire bed, so you get from cold logs to a stable cooking ember bed fast.

The grill grate

Across the top sits a removable grate welded from solid steel flat bar, not chromed wire that sags and rusts, but bar stock that sears properly and cleans with a brush. A raised handle arm stands clear of the heat so the grate can be lifted or swung aside safely, turning the grill back into an open fire pit in seconds. When the cooking is done, take the grate off entirely and enjoy the fire.

Made to measure: any size you need

The standard bowl is 700 x 700 mm with a 400 mm depth, standing about 520 mm tall on 120 mm welded block legs, a comfortable working height for grilling while seated or standing at a bench. As with everything we build, the size is yours to decide: a longer bowl with a half-width grate for simultaneous grilling and open fire, a lower profile for a sunken terrace, or a larger grate area for feeding a crowd. Ask for a quotation with your dimensions and we fabricate to them.

Finish options

Raw steel weathers to an even dark patina and needs no maintenance, or choose a heat-resistant black coating for a uniform matte finish. Fire-contact surfaces get a dedicated high-temperature finish rather than conventional powder coating, which cannot survive the burn zone; RAL powder coating is available for non-fire components on custom builds. The grate itself is left as bare steel, the correct, food-safe choice for any cooking surface over live fire.
