Can a steel fire pit stay outside in the rain?

Yes. Bare steel takes on an even patina that needs no care, and 10 mm plate stands up to any weather for years. After rain, scoop out the wet ash so it does not sit in the base. In winter the fire pit can stay in the garden, and the bowl on a tubular stand lifts off its stand for storing in a garage. We add drain holes in the base on request.
