This sliding steel loft door is a glass barn door: a welded leaf divided by steel muntins into laminated glass lights, hanging from two roller carriages on an exposed steel track fixed to the wall.

The leaf slides parallel to the wall instead of swinging into the room, so it suits tight hallways, en-suites, pantries and home offices where a hinged door would collide with furniture. A floor guide keeps it in line without a rail across the opening, and a full-height steel bar handle gives a grip from both sides.

The default leaf is 1000 x 2100 mm, on a track sized to clear the opening. Another muntin rhythm, longer tracks, double sliding leaves or soft-close carriages are made on request. VSG 4.4.1 laminated glass (approx. 8 mm) is standard and VSG 3.3.1 (approx. 6 mm) the economy option. Leaf, track and hardware are primed and painted as one set, matte black or any RAL colour.

Industrial glazing that slides out of the way

The sliding loft door combines the black-grid loft aesthetic with barn-door practicality. The glazed steel leaf hangs from two machined roller carriages running on an exposed wall-mounted track, deliberately visible hardware that becomes part of the design. Because the leaf travels parallel to the wall, it needs zero swing space, making it the right choice for tight hallways, en-suites, pantries and home offices where a hinged door would collide with furniture.

The leaf is divided by welded steel muntins into a grid of laminated glass lights, with a full-height steel bar handle for a comfortable grip from either side. A discreet floor guide keeps the leaf tracking true without a threshold rail across the opening.

Default format is a 1000 x 2100 mm leaf on a track sized for full clearance of the opening. Every element is fabricated to order: wider or taller leaves, oversize single panels, a different muntin rhythm, longer tracks, double sliding leaves, or soft-close carriages. Send your opening and wall dimensions and we engineer the door and track to fit, including the fixing layout for your wall build-up.
