This metal staircase is a straight flight in welded S235JR steel: two flat-plate stringers cut to pitch, folded treads between them, and a tube handrail with horizontal infill rails rising with the flight. It arrives as one welded unit with drilled base and top plates for anchoring.

The stringers are cut from heavy flat plate, which gives the stair a clean side profile, and the treads have an anti-slip surface and a front riser bar. The open risers let daylight through, so the stair suits a loft apartment, a workshop or outside access to a first floor.

The base configuration is 1000 mm wide, with 12 treads climbing 3250 mm over a 3960 mm run. Any floor height is possible, with tread count and pitch recalculated, in widths from 800 mm to 1200 mm and beyond. A handrail on one side is standard; a second handrail, a full balustrade, closed risers or timber tread overlays are available on request.

The steel is powder coated in any RAL colour, with a zinc-primed system for fully exposed outdoor stairs on request. It is ordered through a quotation: the base configuration is quoted at the price shown, and for another floor-to-floor height or run we set the final dimensions in the quotation.

The straight flight, done properly

The Straight Steel Staircase is the workhorse of steel access: two flat-plate stringers cut to pitch, folded steel treads welded between them, and a tube-and-rail handrail rising with the flight. It arrives as a single welded unit with drilled base and top connection plates: set it, anchor it, done. The open-riser design keeps it light on the eye and lets daylight through, which is why the same stair works in a loft apartment, a workshop or as external access to a first floor.

Made to measure: any rise, run and width

The base configuration is 1000 mm wide with 12 treads climbing 3250 mm over a 3960 mm horizontal run. Stairs only feel right when the geometry matches the building, so each flight is fabricated to your measurements:

Any floor-to-floor height: tread count and pitch recalculated for an even, comfortable climb
Widths from 800 mm service stairs to 1200 mm and beyond
Steeper compact flights where the run is tight, shallower ones where comfort rules
Handrail on one side as standard; second handrail, child-safe infill or full balustrade on request
Closed risers, timber tread overlays or grating treads for external use
Intermediate landing versions (L- or U-shaped) available on request

Materials and construction

The flight is welded from steel S235JR. Stringers are cut from heavy flat plate (no folded sheet), giving the stair its rigidity and clean side profile. Treads are folded steel with an anti-slip surface and a front riser bar for stiffness. The handrail is welded steel tube with horizontal infill rails, and both stringers end in drilled connection plates for anchoring to the slab and the upper floor edge. All welds are ground clean before finishing.

Finish

Shot-blasted and powder-coated in the RAL colour of your choice. Matte black (RAL 9005) as shown and anthracite (RAL 7016) are the house standards; any other RAL shade costs the same. For fully exposed outdoor stairs we offer a zinc-primed coating system on request.

Each staircase is fabricated to order. Products ordered in the shop are ready for collection within 7 weeks of your order, or delivered in Poland, Spain, Italy or the United Kingdom, or by courier in Germany, within 9 weeks, if our order confirmation reaches you by the end of the second working day after your order and you pay within 7 days of receiving it; if it reaches you later, these times run from the day your payment arrives.It is ordered through a quotation: ask for one from this page with your floor-to-floor height and available run, and the base configuration is quoted at the price shown.
