A gate for an existing opening, a bed frame for a particular mattress or a table base for a top already chosen: bespoke metalwork starts with the job the piece needs to do. Bespoke Welding is Rafał Młynarczyk’s small steel welding workshop in Piotrowice, Poland, between Kraków and Silesia. We provide welding services and steel fabrication to customer drawings, sketches or agreed measurements. Choose a catalogue design as a starting point, or send an enquiry about a piece of your own.

What we make to order

Our work includes steel pieces for homes, gardens and workshops. These categories show the kinds of items available and provide useful references when describing a custom order:

  • Gates and fencing: swing gates, sliding gates, pedestrian gates and fence panels sized for the site.
  • Railings and balustrades: for balconies, terraces and stairs, including Juliet balconies for full-height windows.
  • Stairs and access: straight stairs, spiral stairs and steel platforms within an agreed scope.
  • Bed frames: steel mattress frames, platform beds and loft beds made to the agreed dimensions.
  • Tables and table bases: dining tables, desks and steel legs for a separate top.
  • Furniture and fixtures: shelving, coat racks, hallway benches and wall-mounted wine racks.
  • Doors and partitions: welded steel frames with glass for dividing interior spaces.
  • Steel structures: pergolas, canopies and terrace roof frames, with the details agreed for each order.
  • Steel containers: workshop waste containers, including tipping skips.

For another steel item, describe its purpose and send a sketch. We can then assess whether it falls within the workshop’s capabilities.

Working from drawings or measurements

A clear hand sketch is useful for an initial enquiry. Include width, height and depth, state the units and mark any dimensions that still need checking. For fitted work, add photographs of the opening, surrounding walls, posts and fixing surfaces. Let us know how the finished piece will be used and what it needs to support.

For a table base, include the top’s material, thickness and dimensions. For a bed frame, give the mattress size. A reference photograph helps explain the appearance, but production requires agreed dimensions. We clarify missing details before making the piece.

Materials, welding and finish

We work with steel sections, including profiles from 20 x 20 to 60 x 40 mm, and sheet up to 4 mm thick. Section sizes, material thicknesses and joints are agreed for the order. We use TIG and MIG welding, selecting the process to suit the piece and the work involved.

Products are painted. Colour, including a RAL reference, and finish are agreed for each order. Tell us whether the item will be used indoors or outdoors and describe the appearance required. For catalogue designs, the individual product page also sets out the relevant finish details.

How a quotation works

  1. Send a drawing or sketch, measurements, quantity and photographs where useful.
  2. Include the delivery location, preferred finish and any request for measuring or installation.
  3. We discuss missing information and prepare a quotation for the agreed scope.
  4. Dimensions, material, finish, price and timing are agreed before production starts.
  5. Delivery or any agreed work on site is arranged as part of the order.

Mention narrow access, stairs or restrictions on delivery vehicles. These details help define the transport and handling required. A quotation needs to cover the actual piece and the services requested, so explain the whole job when sending the enquiry.

Delivery to any country, and work on site

We deliver throughout Poland by courier, freight or pallet transport, depending on the item. Orders for every other country travel by courier, pallet or freight, with transport quoted individually. Provide the destination postcode and details of access and unloading so that the delivery arrangements can be discussed.

We come to measure on site in Silesia and Lesser Poland. Installation is available by individual arrangement. Measuring, travel and installation are priced individually; include the site location and the work required when asking for a quotation.

Questions when planning bespoke metalwork

How do I measure for a gate?

Measure the clear opening between the posts and show the space beside the opening and along the driveway. Include photographs and say which vehicles need access. For a sliding gate, show the available run beside the fence. Final manufacturing dimensions are agreed before fabrication.

Which dimensions are needed for a spiral staircase?

Send the height between finished floors, the size and shape of the floor opening, and the available space at the bottom and top. Photographs help explain access and nearby obstructions. The diameter and layout need to suit that particular space.

How much does a Juliet balcony cost?

The quotation depends on its dimensions, infill, finish and fixing arrangement, together with delivery and any agreed site work. Send the opening width and photographs of the wall around it. We price the requested piece once the scope is clear.
