A rocking chair welded from pure line

The Steel Garden Rocking Chair reduces a classic form to its essential geometry. A run of parallel vertical slats flows in one uninterrupted curve from the head of the backrest, over the seat edge and under you, so the surface you sit on and the surface you lean against are the same continuous gesture. Tubular armrests loop from the back frame to the front legs, and the whole chair rides on a pair of curved, fully welded runners tuned for a slow, stable rock rather than a tip-prone swing.

Made to measure: any size on request

The standard chair measures 750 mm wide and 820 mm deep, with a 440 mm seat height and a 950 mm back. Every chair is fabricated to order:

• Wider seats or a taller back for a fuller recline
• Adjusted runner curvature: gentler or livelier rocking action
• Higher seat height for easier sitting and standing
• Pairs and porch sets welded to identical geometry

Materials and construction

The chair combines rectangular profile in the structure with round tube in the armrests and formed slats in the seat and back, in your choice of steel or aluminium. Steel gives the rock momentum and a planted feel; aluminium suits balconies and anyone who moves furniture often. Every joint is welded and ground; there are no fasteners to loosen with years of motion, which is exactly what kills bolted rocking chairs. The standard sections are 60 x 20 x 2 mm rectangular profile and Ø 25 x 2 mm round tube for the armrests; you choose steel or aluminium when ordering.

Finish

Shot-blasted and powder-coated in any RAL colour. Matte black (RAL 9005), as shown, is the house standard; anthracite, sage or cream can be chosen when you order. The slatted steel surface is comfortable as-is and drains rain instantly. Add a loose cushion if you prefer, nothing is required.

Lead time and delivery

Each chair is fabricated to order. Products ordered in the shop are ready for collection within 7 weeks of your order, or delivered in Poland, Spain, Italy or the United Kingdom, or by courier in Germany, within 9 weeks, if our order confirmation reaches you by the end of the second working day after your order and you pay within 7 days of receiving it; if it reaches you later, these times run from the day your payment arrives.Questions about sizing or runner tuning?
