Self-Dumping Steel Hopper on Castors
This self-dumping hopper on castors is our welded steel tipping container for workshop waste on a castor chassis: four 200 mm polyamide castors on welded plates, two fixed and two swivel castors with brakes. Push it along a level floor to the machine, lock the brakes and let it fill with offcuts, swarf, chips or cardboard.
When it is full, a forklift lifts it by the pockets and tips it over the skip on its pivots, as the hopper without castors. The standard body holds 0.5 mΒ³, and the stated load stays 750 kg, evenly distributed. Order it at the price shown; you pay after our order confirmation.
The self-dumping hopper, on castors
This is our self-dumping hopper for production waste with a castor chassis under its base frame. It stands beside the machine and fills up; where a forklift cannot reach the machine, you push the hopper out on its castors to an aisle. There the forklift lifts it by the pockets and drives to the skip, the operator releases the lever, and the body tips forward on its pivots and empties itself. Set back down, it returns upright and locks, ready to be pushed back.
The castors change how you move it, not what it carries: the stated load stays 750 kg, evenly distributed, the same as for the hopper without castors.
Standard size and made to measure
The standard hopper holds 0.5 mΒ³ (500 l), measures 1500 x 800 mm and stands about 950 mm high on its castors. Every hopper is welded to order around your waste and your forklift, so you can also choose:
- a capacity and footprint to suit the space next to the machine
- fork pocket spacing matched to your forklift and a tipping height to clear your skip
- 160 mm castors for a smaller, lower hopper
- a drain plug for wet swarf
Materials and construction
- Welded steel plate body with a sloping front and a reinforced top edge: 3 mm body, 4 mm base
- Base frame with welded fork pockets: clear openings 200 x 80 mm, centres 580 mm
- Pivot brackets with a manual locking lever
- Castor chassis: four 200 mm polyamide castors bolted to plates welded under the base frame, two fixed and two swivel castors with brakes
- Continuous welds on every seam
Finish
The hopper is painted in an industrial coating, dark grey as standard or any RAL colour for your site marking. For outdoor use a hot-dip galvanised body is available, an option priced in a quotation.
Moving it safely
Push the hopper only on a level, firm and smooth workshop floor, never on a slope or a ramp, and never while a forklift has it raised. Lock both brakes when it stands at the machine and while you load it. To empty it, the forklift lifts it by the pockets as usual; do not tip it by hand.
