Fixed Metal Mattress Support Base

A quiet, solid base for your mattress

The support under a mattress matters as much as the mattress itself. This base is welded from steel box section: a rigid perimeter frame, a centre rail running head to foot and short legs at the corners and along the middle. On top sit curved wooden slats in flexible holders, which give a little under the body and let the mattress breathe.

Because every joint is welded, there are no screws to work loose and no creaks when you turn over. The base can stand on its own as a low, minimal bed, or be made to drop into an existing upholstered or wooden bed frame.

Made to measure for your mattress

We build the base to your mattress and the way you use it:

• any mattress size, including non-standard lengths and widths,
• overall height and leg height,
• free-standing, or sized to sit inside your bed frame,
• slat spacing matched to your mattress type,
• one-piece or split into two halves for delivery.

A steel base also makes sense under a heavy mattress or in a guest room bed that is moved often, where screwed wooden frames tend to loosen.

Finish

The steel is powder-coated in any RAL colour. Matte black or graphite suit a low platform bed; white or light grey disappear inside a light bed frame.

Mattress and bedding are not included. Dimensions and colour are confirmed with you before fabrication.

Choose your mattress size, from 90 x 200 to 200 x 200 cm: the price shown is for the size you choose. Give the overall height and leg height, your mattress type for the slat spacing and the RAL colour in the order comment at checkout, at no extra cost. Another length or width, two halves or a base that goes into a bed frame is made to measure: ask for a quotation before ordering, with the inside dimensions of that frame. We confirm your order within 2 working days without changing the price or the delivery cost, and you pay by bank transfer after our confirmation. If you are unsure, ask before ordering. Collect the base free of charge from our workshop, or choose delivery in Poland, Spain, Italy or the United Kingdom at the flat rate shown at checkout (for the UK, import VAT and duty are paid on arrival); delivery to other countries is by quotation.
