How do I measure for a driveway gate?

Measure the clear width between the posts at the bottom and at the top, and the gate height you want. Check whether the drive behind the gate is level or rises, because that decides how a leaf can swing. For a sliding gate, measure the free space along the fence for the leaf and its counterweight.
